Cookie Policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated 30 July 2026

This site sets almost nothing. What follows is the complete list, what each item does, and how to change your mind. Read alongside our Privacy Notice.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, do much the same thing. They are used to make sites work, remember preferences, and tell site owners how their site is being used.

Our approach

By default, this website sets only what is strictly necessary for it to function and to remember your cookie choice. Anything optional — currently just analytics — is set only after you have actively accepted it, in line with the UK GDPR and regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Declining changes nothing about how the site works for you. There is no dark pattern here: the decline button is as easy to press as the accept button, we do not ask again on every page, and we do not treat "keep scrolling" as consent.

Strictly necessary

These do not require consent because the site cannot work properly without them.

NameTypePurposeDuration
verada_consent First-party local storage Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask again on every visit. 12 months
verada-theme First-party local storage Remembers whether you chose the light or dark version of the site. Until cleared
verada_last_send First-party local storage Records the time of your last contact-form submission, purely to rate-limit automated spam. Contains a timestamp and nothing else. Until cleared

Analytics — only with your consent

We do not currently operate analytics on this site. If and when we do, the tags will load only after you accept, and this table will list exactly what they set before they are switched on.

NameProviderPurposeDuration
_gaGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes visitors so we can measure how the site is used in aggregate.Up to 13 months
_ga_<id>Google AnalyticsMaintains session state for analytics measurement.Up to 13 months

Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful. Google may process it on servers outside the UK — see International transfers.

Third parties that see your request

Two services receive technical information simply because your browser contacts them when a page loads. Neither sets tracking cookies on this site.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent stops any new analytics cookies being set; you can clear existing ones through your browser.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

Where we link out — for example to LinkedIn or a university partner — those sites set their own cookies under their own policies once you leave ours. We have no control over them.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy whenever what we set changes. Questions to privacy@verada.health.
